Report: West Brom’s Charlie Austin wanted by Cardiff on loan

West Bromwich Albion striker Charlie Austin is on Cardiff City’s radar, that the Bluebirds are interested in a season-long loan.

Austin scored 10 goals in 34 Championship appearances following his switch from Southampton. He only made 18 starts for the club, instead often proving to be a super-sub.

Nevertheless, it appears that he could be on the move before the window fully closes. that Bilic is prepared to let Austin leave the Hawthorns as he looks to fund a move for a new striker.

The report adds that Cardiff are keen to take Austin on loan. It is noted that Neil Harris’s side are also looking at Barnsley’s Cauley Woodrow.

It will be interesting to see if West Brom have any interest in loaning Austin out. , his contract with the club expires at the end of the season. So they would surely prefer to let him go permanently.

Having said that, that Austin earns £70,000-a-week. That apparently places him as one of the club’s highest earners.

So if Bilic does not have him in his plans, he will surely be open to any offers that come in as he looks to bolster his own transfer kitty ahead of the final days of the window.
