Report: West Brom want Spurs left-back Danny Rose

West Brom would be interested in signing Danny Rose, that there is a good chance that he will have his Tottenham Hotspur contract cancelled this month.

Rose is still awaiting the chance to make his first first-team appearance of the season. He returned to North London in the summer off the back of an underwhelming loan spell at Newcastle last term.

He was subsequently left out of Jose Mourinho’s squads for the Premier League and Europa League. And unfortunately for the left-back, he was unable to secure another move elsewhere.

His contract – which is worth £60,000-a-week, – expires in the summer. But it appears that he could be on the move before that.

that there is a good chance that his Spurs contract could be torn up this month.

And should he become a free agent, Sam Allardyce would be very keen to take him to the Hawthorns.

It makes sense for Tottenham to try and offload Rose a few months early. And the defender will surely be open to the chance of pursuing another opportunity elsewhere.

It remains to be seen if a move to the Baggies appeals to the England international. West Brom are six points off safety in the Premier League table.

If Rose signed and was able to rediscover anything like his best form, the decision would be vindicated emphatically.

But as things stand, it would surely be viewed as a gamble if West Brom did make a move for Rose – even on a free transfer.
