Slaven Bilic had to work with a tight budget during the summer. So it is no surprise that Allardyce is seemingly looking to the loan market for a potential marquee addition next month.

, West Brom are interested in both Daniel James of Manchester United and Everton striker Tosun.

Of course, with Conor Gallagher already in the ranks, the Baggies would be unable to sign both James and Tosun on temporary deals. So much may depend on who is available.

Tosun has played a peripheral role for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season. The Turkey international has made four substitute appearance in the Premier League, and has been on the pitch for little more than half an hour in total.

It was, of course, Allardyce who was in charge of Everton when Tosun was signed. , the Toffees paid £27 million for the forward in 2018.

So it will be interesting to see whether Tosun has any interest in being reunited with the West Brom boss at the Hawthorns should the opportunity present itself next month.
