Report: West Brom opens talks to sign Crystal Palace player
West Brom have opened talks with Crystal Palace over a potential move for Christian Benteke in this window, .
The Baggies are still looking for a striker as the deadline starts to emerge on the horizon. It is certainly an issue that Sam Allardyce needs to address with just three goals coming from the forwards in the Premier League so far this term.

And it appears that Benteke may be a key target for the final days of the window. that they are in talks to sign the Belgian on a short-term deal.
It is noted that his Palace contract expires in the summer. But West Brom are hoping that the Eagles will agree to cover some of his wages to make a move happen.

It remains to be seen if a deal can be agreed. However, Sky Sports does note that the two clubs are some way apart in their valuations – despite Palace’s willingness to let him go.
TBR View: Deal would benefit West Brom and Palace
Benteke has come in for a lot of criticism in recent years. So it may be a gamble for West Brom to make a move as they look to get themselves out of trouble.
Having said that, it could be a deal that works out for all parties.
, Benteke is on £125,000-a-week at Selhurst Park. So even offloading a portion of his wages would hand Roy Hodgson’s men a boost ahead of the summer.
Meanwhile, Benteke’s three goals so far this season may just give the slightest hint that he could make an impact for West Brom.
It is definitely a risk. But the Baggies surely cannot afford to not roll the dice in some direction at this stage of the window.
