Report: West Brom keen on Sheffield Wednesday striker Josh Windass
According to a report from the , West Brom could launch a move to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker, Josh Windass, this summer.
The Owls need two wins from their final two games to have a chance of staying up. It’s a mammoth task, and one Windass will need to play a key role in if Wednesday are to achieve it.
However, in a miserable season overall, Windass has been a small glimmer of light. The former Rangers man has hit 10 goals for the Owls, which is impressive enough given their struggles at the foot of the table.

West Brom are expected to drop down themselves. Despite an improvement in form of late, it looks like being too little, too late, for Sam Allardyce’s side. Windass, then, could prove an inspired piece of business for the Baggies.
Wednesday will know they have little chance of keeping hold of their better players like Windass. The 27-year-old has 64 goals in his career thus far in spells with Wigan, Accrington, Rangers, and now, Wednesday.
TBR View: Windass too good for League One but could be short of what Albion need
While Windass has had a good season with Wednesday, West Brom will be going for promotion next season so it’s unclear if he’s the man to fire in the goals required.
He certainly has ability. Windass has always operated in fits and spurts. It’s why he’s never quite left his stamp anywhere as yet, although he has found his feet a bit in Sheffield.
Albion could do far worse, but they could also do better. Windass, then, might well be a bit underwhelming for Baggies fans.
