Report: West Brom hope to seal Josh Windass move

West Brom hope to seal a £400,000 move for Sheffield Wednesday’s Josh Windass, .

It is little surprise to see Sam Allardyce try and get stuck into the January window. The Baggies are now six points off safety having won just one game all season.

And it appears that their first signing may not be too far away. , West Brom hope to complete a deal for Windass.

If the transfer goes through, it would arguably be a low risk move for West Brom. Admittedly, Windass has not been prolific this season.

He has scored three times in 20 Championship appearances for Wednesday. And he has not found the back of the net in any of his last five games.

However, he is a player who can make things happen. And he is also extremely versatile as he can play out wide or up front.

It would presumably not be a move that would eat up all of Allardyce’s January budget. So it may well be worth a roll of the dice from the Baggies if an agreement can be reached.

But you could understand if West Brom fans were hoping that he may prove to be the first of many to arrive through the door before the deadline passes.
