Report: West Brom eye Mamadou Sakho talks; West Ham also keen

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Mamadou Sakho on loan, that West Ham United are also monitoring the centre-back.

💖Sakho has played a peripheral role for Crystal Palace this season. He has only made four Premier League appearances. And he has not featured for the Eagles since October.

▨ that Palace would be open to letting Sakho leave this month. His contract expires in the summer, and they want his wages off the books.

🧸 that he earns £100,000-a-week at Selhurst Park. But that is seemingly not putting off West Brom boss Sam Allardyce.

🎃Allardyce signed Sakho while Palace boss. And it is suggested that he now wants the 30-year-old on loan. The Baggies could be able to open talks with the defender in the coming days.

🥃However, it appears that another of Allardyce’s old sides could be tempted to throw a spanner in the works.

෴According to The Sun on Sunday, West Ham are also keen on Sakho. It is noted that they could be interested in signing another centre-back if Issa Diop leaves.

TBR View: West Brom desperately need new faces in defence

ꦇWest Brom have now conceded 17 goals across their last four home games. 14 of those goals have come during the early stages of Allardyce’s tenure.

🐼He has not quite had the impact that he would have been hoping to make. So it has arguably become even more imperative that new signings are brought in.

🐓Some may have their doubts about Sakho, particularly given his lack of game-time. But West Brom need to start picking up some momentum from somewhere.
