Report: West Brom defender Kieran Gibbs verbally agrees next move

Kieran Gibbs has moved a step closer to the West Bromwich Albion exit, that he has verbally agreed a summer move to Inter Miami.

It would be no surprise to see the 31-year-old leave the Baggies in the near future. He has played more of a peripheral role this season.

He has not been named in a match day squad since the clash with Sheffield United at the start of February. And it appears that he may well have already made his final appearance for the club.

The report notes that he is the club’s highest-earner on £70,000-a-week. And the Baggies are looking to reduce their wage bill with relegation looking increasingly likely.

Gibbs could potentially still have a role to play this season. However, Conor Townsend looks to be first-choice at left-back.

And with Gibbs seemingly on his way, Allardyce would be wise to keep faith with Townsend, who is obviously more likely to be at the club next season.

He also has Ainsley Maitland-Niles who can play there. The Arsenal loanee has tended to play in his preferred position in midfield since arriving in the winter window, but he is an option.
