Report: Vincent Kompany £4.3m bid rejected for Liverpool player
that Vincent Kompany has tabled a £4.3million bid to sign Reds player Taiwo Awoniyi. The forward has returned from his seventh loan spell away from the club, at Union Berlin. Kompany wants him at Anderlecht, but the offer has been rejected by Liverpool.
Awoniyi, 23, has been on loan at Mainz, Frankfurt, Gent and Royal Mouscrown among others. Last season, he played for Union Berlin in the Bundesliga and impressed – having a hand in nine goals during 22 games. Now, interest is hotting up in the Nigeria striker, with Anderlecht keen.
Goal claimed earlier this week that West Brom, Stoke and Mainz have all made enquiries to sign Awoniyi. Now, a £4.3million bid from Anderlecht has been rejected with Liverpool looking to bring in £8million for the player’s services. He has a contract at Anfield until June 2023.

Anderlecht would be a good move for Liverpool talent Awoniyi
Anderlecht are on the lookout for a new striker having seen Lukas Nmecha return to Manchester City – after a brilliant loan with the Belgians. The Germany Under-21 man scored 21 goals in 41 games under Kompany but now the City icon needs to replace him. Awoniyi is a target.
Certainly, a move to Anderlecht would be a big one for Awoniyi. He has already shown he can score plenty of goals in Belgian football with 21 in 47 for Mouscrown – as well as laying on 10 assists. If a fee of around £6million is on the table for Awoniyi, then a deal should be go through.
