Report: Update in chase for Liverpool target Pepe
According to , Lille winger Nicolas Pepe is set to leave the French outfit in the very near future. The Lille president, Gerard Lopez, told , regarding Pepe’s future, “our job is done…We will get what we need…It is true that he has big offers and big clubs on him, so I think [he will leave]”.
The report that both Manchester United and Liverpool hold a strong interest in the 24-year-old.
Either Old Trafford or Anfield could be the next destination for the outbound attacker. Jurgen Klopp should certainly be doing all he can to ensure that the Reds beat the Red Devils to Pepe’s signature.

Whilst Liverpool enjoyed a spectacular campaign last time out, that saw them crowned European champions, they cannot afford to rest on their laurels. In order for the club to maintain their progress, Klopp must ensure that he strengthens his squad this summer.
Pepe would certainly bolster the Merseyside club’s attacking contingent. The 11-cap Ivory Coast international was in scintillating form last season. In 38 Ligue 1 outings, he racked up 22 goals and 11 assists. If he were to be able to carry that form over into the Premier League, then Liverpool’s front line would instantly become an even more frightening proposition.
What’s more, if Liverpool were to win the race to Pepe’s signature, they’d also be damaging a rival as they’d ensure that Manchester United are missing out on a top target.
