Report: ‘Unbelievable’ player was desperate to join Arsenal last summer, now he’s worth £100m

Just like they are now, Arsenal were on the lookout for a new striker last summer and Tammy Abraham was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates.
The Gunners started the season with Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun up top. That’s more than enough options for a side not in Europe, but Arsenal did try to sell a couple of them.
Both Lacazette and Nketiah entered the final year of their contracts last summer and if a suitable offer came in for either one of them, Mikel Arteta and Edu would’ve sent them on their way.
No transfer offers arrived and the two strikers stayed put. That cost Arsenal their chance to sign Abraham.

Tammy Abraham really wanted to join Arsenal
Arsenal completely change their transfer policy last summer. Their priority became young players with great potential. Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Takehiro Tomiyasu all checked those boxes, and they’ve all been incredible so far.
Abraham, , would’ve fit in really well too and as rumours about Arsenal’s interest in the Englishman began floating around, the striker was reportedly ready to make the switch to the Emirates.
revealed last summer that Abraham had even told many of his Chelsea teammates that he wanted to join Arteta’s Arsenal.
Sadly, that move never materialised and he ended up in Italy with AS Roma instead.

He’s worth £100m now
Since joining forces with Jose Mourinho in Rome, former Arsenal target Tammy Abraham has been in red-hot form.
The Englishman has scored 23 goals and has provided four assists in 37 starts, and he has quickly become one of the best strikers in the Serie A.
Roma are so happy with Abraham now that they have no plans of letting him leave. If a club like Arsenal want to make a move for him, have claimed that the Giallorossi will demand an eye-watering £100 million this summer.
That arguably ruins Arsenal’s chances of getting him now and Arteta should be kicking himself as he could’ve signed Abraham for a third of that fee last summer.
