According to a report from , Mauricio Pochettino is set to be sacked by Paris Saint-Germain following their Champions League exit last night.

The Parisians went to the Spanish capital with a 1-0 lead from the first-leg last night. They were arguably the favourites to go through, but Karim Benzema’s hat-trick knocked them out of the competition.

PSG’s dream every single season is to win the Champions League. They’ve tried long and hard and have even got close in recent years. Sadly, they have failed every time and this season is no different.

As always, it’s the manager who gets the blame and it has been claimed that he’s facing the sack now.

PSG sacking Pochettino opens door for Tottenham return

Pochettino has been at risk of losing his job at Paris Saint-Germain for quite some time now. That has given rise to rumours about a possible return to the Premier League, potentially back to Tottenham.

TalkSport pundit and presenter Alan Brazil claimed just six days ago that Pochettino wants to come back to Tottenham Hotspur to replace Antonio Conte.

He said: “From the horse’s mouth, he wants to come back to the Premier [League] and he wants to come back with Tottenham. He wants to come back to Spurs, I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but that’s what he wants.”

If Pochettino, , does get sacked, he will surely have his eyes on the Tottenham job.

Should Spurs appoint Poch again?

Tottenham currently have one of the best managers in world football in Conte at the helm. The Italian is a proven winner and he is undoubtedly Spurs’ best hope of ending their trophy drought.

However, Conte, on more than one occasion, has made it seem like he doesn’t want to be there. His outburst following Spurs’ defeat Burnley convinced many people that he was on his way out, which is not a good thing at all.

Tottenham and Daniel Levy should do everything in their power to keep hold of Conte. However, if he does leave in the summer, who better to appoint than the man who took them to the final of the Champions League just a few years ago.

It will be interesting to see how the whole situation pans out in the coming months.
