Report: Trippier tempted Carlos and Botman to consider Newcastle move
Newcastle United signing Kieran Trippier during the January transfer window has already paid off significantly for the Magpies – but, , securing his signature also nearly had a positive impact on their pursuits of both Diego Carlos and Sven Botman.
Trippier was the first of five signings from Newcastle last month. At the time, his switch came as a real surprise. He left the champions in La Liga for Tyneside at a time when Eddie Howe’s men looked to be in serious danger of being relegated.
Of course, Trippier has already made an amazing impact. The right-back has scored in their last two games, including the winner against Aston Villa at the weekend.

And with that, it really does seem that Trippier has been a game-changing signing. On the pitch, he has had a huge impact. Off the pitch, he is encouraging some hugely exciting players to consider joining Newcastle.
Unfortunately, his importance may only become fully apparent now. Trippier sustained an injury at the weekend. And not having him in the coming weeks could be a real blow.
