Report: Tottenham’s Serge Aurier rejects chance to join Wolves
Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of offloading Serge Aurier have been dealt a blow, that the right-back has rejected the chance to join Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.
The two Premier League sides do look set to complete a deal during this window. As noted by the Sunday People, Matt Doherty is on his way to join Spurs for £15 million in the next 48 hours with personal terms being finalised.

But it appears that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men had hoped to land a Tottenham player as part of the deal.
that Spurs had hoped to use Aurier – who earns £70,000-a-week – in a swap deal. However, it is suggested that the Ivory Coast international rejected the opportunity to move to Molineux.

It is noted that the £20 million-rated defender’s preferred move would be to AC Milan. Bayer Leverkusen are also reportedly interested.
TBR View: Best for all concerned to agree Aurier exit
With Doherty seemingly on his way, it looks to be best for all if Aurier does agree a move elsewhere. He may well struggle for game-time should the Republic of Ireland international arrive.
Meanwhile, Spurs’s transfer kitty should receive a boost if they can get around £20 million for the 27-year-old. Offloading his wages may also prove to be useful.
Gedson Fernandes and Juan Foyth are amongst those capable of providing cover for Doherty.
So while a move to Wolves is seemingly off the table, it would be little surprise if Aurier still manages to secure a move away before the deadline passes.
