Report: Tottenham want to raid Chelsea for towering defender Kurt Zouma
that Jose Mourinho wants to form a reunion at Tottenham Hotspur with a player he signed for Chelsea six years ago – in the form of French defender Kurt Zouma.
Zouma, 25, joined Chelsea from French side St. Etienne back in January 2014 for a fee of £12million . He has since clocked up 104 appearances for the Blues, amid loans to Everton and Stoke and recovering from an ACL injury.
Tottenham are expected to be after a new central defender in the upcoming summer window, with Jan Vertonghen due to leave Spurs this summer. The Belgian has been offered an extension until the end of the season.
But beyond that, a new deal looks unlikely. A replacement is needed, then, and Mourinho is said to have included his former signing Zouma in a five-man shortlist passed to Daniel Levy ahead of the summer window.

TBR’s view – Zouma would be a decent signing for Tottenham
Zouma would hardly improve Tottenham’s options, but he would certainly be a decent addition and add another body to the north London club’s back line. Certainly, he offers similar qualities to that of Davinson Sanchez.
Plenty of pace and strength, Zouma is excellent in the air but is culpable of a lapse in concentration and making a mistake here and there. In possession, he is okay, but far below the quality of Toby Alderweireld.
If Spurs can get Zouma for a decent price, or even on a loan-to-buy deal, then they would pull off a decent signing.
