Report: Tottenham want PL speedster to replace their £23m player who’s set to leave

Tottenham are reportedly interested in Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey this summer, who’s viewed as someone that could replace their current player Serge Aurier.

claims Spurs are keen on trying to bring the 20-year-old to north London. However, he’s under contract with Premier League club Brighton until 2025.

Additionally, the report states that the interest in Lamptey has emerged due to the fact current Spurs full-back Serge Aurier looks set to leave.

It is understood that defender Aurier will be sold.

Lamptey, 20, is a highly rated right-back that only played 11 games across all competition this season. But, he’s made a huge impression in the top flight during his brief time as a senior player.

He’s a wide man renowned for his blistering speed, and he’s an amazing talent developed in the Chelsea academy.

Lamptey would be amazing for Tottenham, but at what cost?

For Spurs, they need to line up a right-back this summer window given the reported Aurier situation.

Lamptey looks a superb target on paper.

Despite the fact he’s played 22 first-team games in his career, it’s obvious he’s a star in the making.

The young English full-back looks so comfortable whenever he’s on the ball, with his blistering pace going forward such a useful weapon.

But, Spurs have no idea on how much he would cost. Also, there has to be concern that he’s not played since December due to a long-term hamstring problem.
