Tottenham transfer news: Malo Gusto being targeted after claims of ‘huge’ Newcastle bid

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with plenty of right-sided defenders this season.

Antonio Conte doesn’t appear to be happy with any of his current options.

Two names have consistently come up when looking at improving Tottenham’s right wing-back options.

The first is Pedro Porro, who has had a fine season with Sporting CP.

The other player is Denzel Dumfries, who would certainly fit the mould of right-back that Conte is looking for.

The Dutchman’s agent is currently in London, and Inter Milan have been interested in the man he could replace, Emerson Royal.

suggests that Tottenham are keen on Lyon full-back Malo Gusto.

The 19-year-old has previously been scouted by Spurs, and has a growing reputation across Europe.

So much so, that Tottenham aren’t the only club interested in the ‘complete’ defender’s signature.

Tottenham very keen on Gusto

Tottenham, Chelsea and Juventus ‘have fallen under the spell’ of Gusto.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been credited with interest, but a move to the Premier League may beckon.

that Newcastle are ready to make a offer for Gusto.

Eddie Howe’s side are also keen on signing a right-back in this window, and would prefer a young player who can learn from Kieran Trippier.

that Lyon are hoping for at least €30m [£26.5m] for Gusto if they are to sell him.

They would prefer him to move in the summer, but it’s hard to see how they would turn down a large bid this month.

Gusto certainly has potential, and is a very attacking full-back, it’s easy to see why Tottenham are keen on him.

There would be a lot of pressure on the teenager to step up in a Tottenham side struggling for form right now.

It would also be a damning indictment for Djed Spence, six months after he arrived from Middlesbrough.

If Spurs bring in a younger, more expensive full-back, he may have to consider his future at the club.
