Report: Tottenham told to bid £10m for Ricky Jade-Jones after failing with £1.75m bid

Peterborough United have told Tottenham Hotspur to cough up £10m for Ricky Jade-Jones, .

Tottenham have failed with a bid of £1.75m as Peterborough have no intention of selling Jade-Jones on the cheap. Instead, the League One club will demand an eight-figure sum for their prized youngster.

Jade-Jones is making an impression in the first-team this season. He made his debut against Arsenal U21s in October, coming off the bench in the EFL Trophy.

Since then, he has played two more games and scored two goals. His first goal for Posh came against Cambridge United in the EFL Trophy and then he netted against Stevenage in the FA Cup.

Darren Ferguson has described the 18-year-old as the quickest player he had ever worked with. Spurs, desperate to sign fresh young talent, want Jade-Jones but he will cost a lot of money.

TBR’s view

It appears that Peterborough are under no pressure to sell and do not want to be raided. But for £10m, this is too much of a risk for Spurs to take at this stage.

Jade-Jones is a talent for the future but he has only just broken into the first-team picture. The teenager has not even made his League One debut yet so Tottenham cannot justify spending £10m on him until they see more.
