Report: Tottenham scout Kudus at World Cup and may accelerate bid
Tottenham Hotspur have been scouting Mohammed Kudus during the World Cup, that they could make a move for the Ajax star to help convince Antonio Conte to sign a new contract in North London.
Kudus was one of the stars of the group-stages in Qatar. The 22-year-old scored twice in the dramatic win over South Korea. Meanwhile, he also set up one of Ghana’s goals against Portugal.

It was not enough to earn Otto Addo’s men a place in the knockout stages. But Kudus has certainly launched himself onto another level with his displays in the tournament.

He had been outstanding for Ajax this term. Already, he has 10 goals in all competitions for the Eredivisie giants. And with that, the versatile midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.

recently suggested that Spurs have made an enquiry for the £30 million-rated Kudus. And has now reported that Tottenham had scouts at the World Cup to watch him specifically.
Meanwhile, they note that they could accelerate their move to try and sign Kudus in the hope of convincing Conte to pen a new contract in North London.
Kudus would be a hugely exciting signing for Tottenham. But clearly, his asking price will have probably risen during his time at the tournament.
Erik ten Hag previously suggested that he is a player with ‘‘ potential. And Ajax will hope, if they are going to lose him, they can encourage a bidding war that ensures that they get the biggest fee possible.
A bidding war may not be the best outcome for a club like Tottenham. But if they feel that signing someone like Kudus will help convince Conte to stay, perhaps they will be ready to push the boat out.
