Report: Tottenham reopen talks for Krzysztof Piatek

Tottenham have reportedly reopened discussions with AC Milan over the signing of Krzysztof Piatek. The AC Milan striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Italy this month and it seems that Jose Mourinho is back in for his signature.

Sky Sports Italia, as reported by the has reported that Spurs see Piatek as a great replacement for Harry Kane, who is out injured for the rest of the season. If the club is to be successful in securing his services, they will need to match the Italian side’s £25 million asking price.

The Polish striker has scored five goals and provided one assist in 19 appearances for Milan this season. He is a highly rated 24-year-old striker that could have the potential to become one of Europe’s top strikers. A fresh challenge could prove to be a good decision for the former Genoa forward.

Tottenham are in desperate need of a striker this month and will need to become less fussy as the window enters its final days. They have also been linked with PSV striker Steven Bergwijn who would cost a reported £21 million ().

There is no doubt that Jose Mourinho desperately needs a striker. Despite not boasting world-class numbers in recent times, Piatek will be a better option than not having a number nine for the rest of the season.

However, £25 million is a sizeable fee and the club need to seriously consider if it is worth it. There will be reasons why the Polish striker has not thrived at AC Milan, and the same could happen in North London. It is a risky move, but one that could pay off.
