Report: Tottenham remain keen on Jerome Boateng, player wants three-year deal
Jerome Boateng is at the top of Tottenham’s wanted list this summer as they crave a new central defender. The Bayern enforcer is willing to take a pay-cut to leave Germany although he craves a three-year deal,
The 32-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and will leave after 10 years at the club. He signed from Manchester City in 2011 and last season helped Bayern to the Champions League title.
In total, Boateng has played 361 times for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring 10 goals and registering 25 assists. Tottenham won’t be the only club interested, with MLS interest also mentioned in the latest

His last contract with Bayern was worth a staggering Although Boateng is prepared to take a lesser salary, he is keen to sign a three-year contract to take him until the end of his career.
Given his age that might put some clubs off making a move to sign him. Tottenham’s situation defensively is pretty desperate though and Boateng would still represent an improvement.
Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier have been the two central defenders more often than not this season. Both have struggled for top form, whilst Davinson Sanchez isn’t the answer either.
Boateng has played 37 games for Bayern this season, with the club on course to retain their Bundesliga crown for the ninth successive campaign.
Former Bayern boss Niko Kovac raved about the defender in 2019, telling the “His concentration and quality are exceedingly good./p>
TBR View: Tottenham should still move for class defender
Whilst a younger option will be needed at some point, Spurs could certainly benefit from Boateng’s experience and beggars can’t be choosers.
Tottenham have been hapless at the back since the turn of the year and something has to give, particularly at centre-back.

Boateng has a wealth of experience and this season has showcased that he’s still capable of performing at the top level.
A three-year contract might be a concern but Spurs have done far worse business in recent times.
In Boateng, they’d get a player who would undoubtedly strengthen the squad and someone who could transform the team defensively.
