Report: Tottenham remain keen on Eriksen return, duo could be included in swap deal

that Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in luring Christian Eriksen back to north London from Inter Milan and could include two Spurs players in a swap deal, ahead of January.

Eriksen, 28, has struggled since joining Inter Milan from Tottenham in January 2020 – scoring just four goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side. He is already being linked with the exit door.

CalcioMercato say Spurs explored a possible return in the summer and could look to do so in January – with the report suggesting Spurs could use a couple of fringe players to enhance their chances of landing the 100-time Denmark international.

Danny Rose is one of those two players, given he is in the final year of his contract and has been left out of the Premier League and Europa League sides. Dele Alli could also be used, as the England ace continues to struggle under Jose Mourinho.

TBR’s view – Eriksen is the missing jigsaw in Tottenham’s side

Alli has failed to impress under Mourinho while Gio Lo Celso continues to go in and out of form. Tanguy Ndombele is showing signs that he is returning to the form that saw Spurs pay a club-record fee to sign him from Lyon.

But Eriksen is a magician. He has been described by every superlative throughout the years at Spurs, during his 305 appearances. His genius has seen him been involved in 158 goals – more than one every two games for the north London side.

The £260k-a-week () star is the missing piece in the jigsaw, and if Spurs can bring him into the side – they can become proper title challengers. If it means the exit of both Alli and Rose – so be it.
