Report: Tottenham regularly scouting Coventry starlet Callum O’Hare
Tottenham Hotspur may have missed out on signing , but it would seem that they now have their eye on a player who has been compared to the Englishman in Callum O’Hare.
, Tottenham are monitoring a host of talents from the EFL. And one of those that they are watching closely is O’Hare.
The 23-year-old has been excellent for Coventry City this season, scoring five goals and contributing seven assists in the Championship.
It does appear that he is well on his way to proving a point to Aston Villa, who released the attacking midfielder back in 2020 before he swiftly signed for the Sky Blues permanently.
But his form is unlikely to come as a surprise to many. O’Hare has previously spoken about being compared with Grealish. He described the connection as . And interestingly, he suggested that he does not feel that it puts any further pressure on him.
Meanwhile, he has previously been lauded by John Terry. The former Aston Villa assistant suggested that he is going to be a ‘‘ back in 2017.
And it seems that it may be Spurs who offer him that chance in the Premier League. that he is one of the young players from the Championship that Tottenham are regularly monitoring.
O’Hare links may not capture the imagination of Tottenham fans immediately
Tottenham fans are cautiously optimistic about this summer. Should they finish fourth, and keep Antonio Conte and Harry Kane, the door could be open for some amazing business.
Signing O’Hare from Coventry was perhaps not what they had in mind. It is not necessarily a move that will capture the imagination.
He will be 24 by the time the window opens. And obviously, it may put some off that he was released by Villa.
But if Tottenham see enough in him, he could prove to be an inspired addition. He may not cost an awful lot. And he clearly has some real talent.
