Report: Tottenham receive contact from club about their defender
Tottenham have reportedly received interest from Belgian club Club Brugge about Toby Alderweireld.
, Club Brugge are extremely keen to sign the 32-year-old Spurs man.
It is explained that they have already made initial contact for the Belgium international, but will need to wait to see what he decides to do with his future in the summer.
The report states that Club Brugge wants to be there to pounce once the defender’s future is made clear, as he’s previously indicated he would like to return to his homeland at some stage.
Alderweireld, who earns £150,000-a-week (), is still under contract with the north London club until 2023.
The centre-back has been in and out of Jose Mourinho’s side thoughout this season, making just 27 appearances across all competitions so far amid a hectic fixture schedule.

TBR’s View:
If you were to ask Spurs fans who their preferred centre-back combination would be, it would be no surprise to see most include Alderweireld in that partnership.
But Mourinho hasn’t had him as a nailed-on starter.
He’s arguably been the club’s best defender during the last five years, and he’s still a quality option despite the fact he turned 32 earlier in March.
Mourinho needs to make it clear who his preferred centre-back are from Alderweireld, Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.
