TBR View: Pellegrini faltering contract talks provides Tottenham with opportunity

The current climate of football means there are plenty of clubs struggling during this transfer window.

The north London giants announced a loss of (£60.6m) for the last financial year.

Pellegrini and his failing contract talks make him a suitable target for Tottenham. Their poor financial situation can be helped by the player’s low release clause.

There’s also the added bonus of the player having played under the arriving Fonseca during his time with the Italian side. And with his age and level of quality, he presents great reasons for Spurs to sign him.

Pellegrini has shown some promise during his young, fledgling career. Despite being just 24-years-old, he was named as the by Fonseca back in February.

He scored 11 times and contributed nine assists in just 47 games across all competitions.

This summer proves a crucial window for the club. Their appointment of Paratici is a sign of an approach in the Italian market. With a low release clause and one year left on his deal, Pellegrini would be an astute piece of business.
