Report: Tottenham pushing again to try and appoint Antonio Conte

Tottenham are now seriously considering going back in for Italian manager, Antonio Conte, as the pressure continues to build on Nuno Espirito Santo.

Spurs lost to Manchester United yesterday with relative ease. The boos rang out around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at full time, and Santo is now under pressure despite only being appointed in the summer.

And according to , Tottenham and Fabio Paratici are now ‘seriously trying’ to convince Conte to become their new coach. Conte, 52, has won the Premier League with Chelsea, as well as Serie A titles.

He won the Scudetto last time out with Inter Milan but left the club amid disagreements on player sales and budget. He has since been targeted by , who have eyes on replacing Ole Solskjaer.

The report from claims that Fabio Paratici is pushing hard to bring Conte to London. Further, it’s suggested Daniel Levy may even be onboard with the appointment.

Conte was approached by Spurs in the summer but walked away from talks after disagreements on the project.

Anyone who gets Antonio Conte in as manager is lucky. He is a serial winner and knows how to get the very best from players.

Some of these Tottenham players would do well to sit up and take notice of Conte’s name to be honest. The reality is some of them won’t survive his methods and ways of working.

Conte to Tottenham was the one which Spurs fans got most behind in the summer months. And the supporters would probably get fully behind this news.

Of course, if Conte is appointed, it’s clear he’d need to be allowed to work in his own way. He’d also need backing. And with Tottenham having just spent more than £100m in the summer again, that might prove problematic.
