Report: Tottenham offered outstanding player for £31.2m after Arsenal decision
Tottenham Hotspur have been offered Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen for just £31.2million, after north London rivals Arsenal pulled out of a deal to sign the Dane.
Both Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old centre-back this summer, as they look to strengthen their options at centre-back for the 2019-20 campaign.
Last season, Anderson managed 32 Serie A appearances for Sampdoria and helped the Italian outfit keep 11 clean sheets in the league. He has a contract at his current club until the summer of 2022.
Spurs are not alone in being offered the uncapped Denmark defender, with Napoli, Juventus and AC Milan also in the running. It looks likely that Andersen will leave the club this summer.

Arsenal have made the decision to opt against spending more than £30million on the defender, with the club said to be stripped for cash. Indeed, that has seen Sampdoria offer Andersen to Spurs.
TBR’s view
Toby Alderweireld has a £25million release clause in his contract and that means he could leave the north London club this summer. Italian sides and Manchester United have been linked with his signature.
Andersen boasts many similar traits to the Belgian veteran. Comfortable on the ball but unbeatable in the air and able to pick a pass, Andersen is near exact replica or Alderweireld – just seven years younger.
Selling Alderweireld for £25million and bringing in Andersen for just £6million more would be excellent business.
