Report: Tottenham offer £65m-rated duo to Juventus

that Tottenham Hotspur have offered Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier to Juventus ahead of the summer window.

Both Trippier, 28 and Alderweireld, 30, have both been key figures of Tottenham’s 2018-19 campaign. They have been regular starters in the Champions League, which sees Spurs set to face Liverpool in the final on June 1.

Tottenham fans have been critical of Trippier this season, though. Many believe he has failed to replicate the successes of 2017-18, and his excellent form for England at the 2018 World Cup.

Alderweireld, meanwhile, has a £25million release clause () in his contract and that is in danger of being activated. The contract only lasts until the summer of 2020, and he could be sold this summer.

Both players were on a 12-man list published by the of players that could leave. It also includes Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente, Moussa Sissoko, Christian Eriksen, Serge Aurier, Danny Rose, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, Erik Lamela, Victor Wanyama and Jan Vertonghen.

Spurs want £40million for Trippier, who is also said to be interesting Manchester United. But CalcioMercato have now claimed both players – worth a combined £65million – have been offered to Juventus.

TBR’s view

Do Spurs really want to get rid of both players? If so, then Mauricio Pochettino needs to have a hard think about who is going to replace the duo.

Realistically, £65million for two of his starting eleven is hardly much in today’s game. Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka has constantly been suggested as a replacement at right-back, but he will cost more than Trippier.

Spurs should look to bring in replacements before they sell either player.
