Report: Tottenham now want to sign ‘world-class’ £55m star after he leaves Barcelona boss Xavi in shock
Tottenham now have an interest in signing Spanish World Cup forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona when the January window opens.
German outlet report that Spurs are looking to add to their attacking options next month and that the opportunity to sign Torres could come up.
Barcelona’s financial struggles are well-known, and even players who have not been at the club very long could be involved in comings and goings in the winter market.
Torres only moved to Barca for last January, but the report says he is not a regular and could be moved on to balance the books.

Tottenham want Torres
They say that it remains to be seen how much Barcelona want for Torres because he has a contract until 2027, and interest from AC Milan too.
The report says Arsenal are also keen and perhaps have a better chance than Spurs of signing Torres, and they may need a new striker to replace the injured Gabriel Jesus.
Xavi signed Torres earlier this year and has in the past that the Spaniard’s quality has surprised him, hailing him ‘world-class’.
He claimed: “Perhaps Ferran has surprised me the most. He’s a player on another level.
“He’s spectacular: how he understands the space, links play, doesn’t lose the ball, his defensive work… he’s world-class.
“He’s a great signing, one I wanted, and a wonderful footballer,” Xavi said but a year after moving to the Camp Nou, he could be on the move again and potentially heading to north London.
