Report: Tottenham now in advanced negotiations over player departure

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is reportedly on the verge of joining PSG on loan.

The Spurs record signing has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte in recent weeks.

Ndombele hasn’t played in the Premier League this year, and his last Tottenham appearance came on 9 January.

The 25-year-old started in the FA Cup third-round victory over Morecambe, but was substituted in the 69th minute.

Ndombele walked slowly off the pitch – with the team 1-0 down – and appeared to slow down further when some supporters started booing.

He walked straight off down the tunnel before later returning to the Spurs dugout for the game’s final stages.

Over the past few weeks, Tottenham have reportedly been trying to offload Ndombele.

And now, according to , Spurs are close to moving him on.

Tottenham and PSG are said to be in advanced talks over a loan for the rest of the season.

This will reportedly include an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Spurs will apparently demand that Ndombele’s wages are covered in full.

They also reportedly want the option to become an obligation to buy.

There is growing confidence that although a deal has not yet been agreed it will happen before Monday’s transfer deadline, added the report.

A deal in which all parties win – TBR View

Ndombele is a high-calibre player who’s earned plenty of plaudits for his quality and talent.

“Ndombele, I said about this guy when I watched him at Lyon,” Declan Rice said during an Instagram Live last year, via .

“I said this guy will kill the Premier League.

“It’s obviously taken him a year to adapt for whatever reasons but he’s so silky, he’s so good.

“All the Spurs boys at England say he’s unbelievable as well so Ndombele… proper player.”

However, it’s just not worked out for him at Spurs under several managers.

Ndombele certainly needs a change of scenery, so hopefully he can secure a move to PSG, where he should flourish.

Meanwhile, Tottenham can get a frozen-out player off their wage bill, and Mauricio Pochettino gets a top talent.

It’s one of those deals where every party wins.
