Report: Tottenham, Newcastle, Wolves and Southampton preparing offers for £4m-rated talent
that Premier League quartet Newcastle, Southampton, Tottenham and Wolves are keen on Matthew Hoppe. The young USA striker has caught the eye with a string of impressive outings in the Bundesliga with Schalke. Relegation, though, means Hoppe will be sold.
The 21-year-old talent scored six goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke, but was unable to prevent relegation. He even netted a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim – which is likely to have got the tongues of Premier League clubs wagging. Schalke have now been relegated.
The German club are ready to cash in on their assets and uncapped USA striker Hoppe will be allowed to go for as little as £4million. The report states that Tottenham, Newcastle, Southampton and Wolves are preparing offers for the attacker. Hoppe will be a part of USA’s Gold Cup squad.

£4million Hoppe a snip for Tottenham, Wolves, Newcastle and Southampton
The striker is clearly a top talent. To score a hat-trick in the Bundesliga for a side that finished stone-dead last is some going – not least, it was against a club as big as Hoffenheim. So, at £4million, he is a bargain – regardless of whether a club needs him or not. In fact, it is surprising only four want him.
Which club would be best for Hoppe? Well, he is hardly going to play regularly at Spurs if Harry Kane stays. The story is similar at Southampton with Danny Ings. He will play at Spurs, with the Europa Conference League. Newcastle and Wolves present the most-opportunity for minutes, though.
