that he will sign on an initial loan with Milan obliged to make his move permanent. However, that may not represent the end of Tanganga’s Tottenham career.

In fact, the report claims that Spurs are currently negotiating a buy-back clause as part of the deal. Obviously, that would leave the door open for the club to bring him back in the future.

Tottenham making right call agreeing buy-back clause in Tanganga deal

You can understand why Tanganga is keen to move on this summer. He has impressed almost whenever he has featured for the first-team in North London. Jose Mourinho suggested that he was an ‘‘ defender.

However, getting into the side this coming season is going to be incredibly difficult. Spurs have remarkable depth across the backline.

Currently, Antonio Conte has three other options for the right wing-back role. Meanwhile, they have real depth at centre-back.

Plenty of players have really benefitted from heading to Serie A in the last few years. Of course, Fikayo Tomori has taken his game to the next level by swapping Chelsea for AC Milan.

So there is a real opportunity for Tanganga to develop his game. And Tottenham may really benefit from not cutting ties with the defender completely.

If he realises his potential, the fee agreed between the two clubs could prove to be a real coup.
