Report: Tottenham most likely side to sign Djed Spence this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to sign Djed Spence this summer, that Antonio Conte’s men are the team most likely to land the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

Spence continues to attract loads of attention. He has been outstanding out on loan with Nottingham Forest this term, helping the Championship side put themselves in promotion contention.

They have also gone on an amazing run in the FA Cup, knocking out both Arsenal and Leicester. His performance against the Gunners was described as ‘‘ by Ian Wright.

that Tottenham made a bid for Spence in the January transfer window. And there are several others in the running to sign the right-back. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also apparently in the running.

Interestingly however, Spurs look to be in pole position. Goal reports that Conte’s side are currently favourites to sign the youngster.

Tottenham would be wise to seal Spence deal as they lead race

It is going to take a fee of around to sign Spence this summer. Obviously, he is yet to play in the Premier League. But he has provided a glimpse of what he can do against Forest’s top-flight opposition in the FA Cup.

And that sort of fee is not game-changing for Tottenham. Certainly, Conte will be expecting a lot more to be spent in other areas over the summer.

Signing a new wing-back looks to be a priority. Neither Matt Doherty or Emerson Royal have had the best time at Tottenham. And it was suggested recently that Royal staying at Spurs may be less likely if Conte remains in charge next season.

Getting Spence through the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium door would be incredibly smart. And it would seem that they currently find themselves in the driving seat to get a transfer across the line.
