Report: Tottenham may consider AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek

Tottenham could reportedly turn their attention to AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek.

According to Spurs could be tempted to look for a forward signing following an injury to talisman Harry Kane and the 24-year-old may come under consideration.

Spurs have confirmed () that Kane has suffered a tear in his left hamstring, but have given no timeframe on his potential return yet.

Calciomercato reports that Milan’s centre-forward Krzysztof Piatek could be on the radar of Jose Mourinho’s side.

It is understood though that he would like to stay put for now and continue fighting for his position.

The Poland international has only managed four goals in 17 appearances so far this season and is yet to hit his best form.

But during the last campaign he scored 30 goals across all competitions in 42 games during spells for Milan and also former club Genoa.

TBR’s View:

Spurs have very little options available to them if Kane is to be out for an extended period, aside from use versatile wingers Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura in more central positions.

It’s clear that manager Mourinho hasn’t taken a big fancy to rising 17-year-old star Troy Parrott yet and that’s why signing a new striker in January could be a smart move regardless of Kane’s injury update.

Piatek is an intriguing forward that clearly knows how to finish after his form last season, but isn’t quite in the same spot right now and a move to the Premier League would be a big test.

He could find minutes harder to come by at the San Siro following the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so he should think hard about his future.
