Leeds United are also eager on Nandez. But Tottenham appear to be the first side to make an official move for the midfielder.

Spurs have made three signings this window since the arrival of both Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici.

And the duo got off to the perfect start to life in north London over the weekend with a 1-0 win against the Premier League champions Manchester City.

Indeed, it was a huge statement of intent from the Portuguese manager. Especially with Harry Kane not in the matchday squad. However, more signings appear to be on the cards for Tottenham this summer.

A new striker could come in should Kane make his reported move to City. A midfielder is also on the club’s radar. And given Nandez’s versatility, the Cagliari star could be a perfect signing for Spurs.

The midfielder has impressed for both club and country since emerging as a real talent with Boca Juniors.

And Nandez’s performances in Italy have shown that the now 25-year-old can compete at the top in Europe.
