Report: Tottenham keen with Bayern considering cutting Nubel loan
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Alexander Nubel, that Bayern Munich could cut his loan spell short to send him elsewhere this summer.
Nubel is seemingly in line to become first-choice in Bavaria once Manuel Neuer steps aside. Right now however, he is edging towards the halfway stage of a two-year loan spell with Monaco.
He has enjoyed regular game-time in the Principality. The problem Nubel faces is that Neuer is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2023. And he could yet extend his stay further.
that Bayern are aware that they will struggle to keep both goalkeepers in their ranks. But they do hope to keep Nubel on their books until Neuer does indeed hang up his gloves.
They hope for Nubel to get the chance to prove himself in the Champions League. The problem is that Monaco currently sit seventh in Ligue 1, five points adrift of the qualification spots for next year’s competition.
And with that, Bayern could utilise their option to recall him and send him elsewhere. And Kicker suggests that one team who want Nubel is Tottenham.

Tottenham have a much better idea of what their goalkeeping picture will look like next season. Hugo Lloris has now extended his contract. They also have the option to keep Pierluigi Gollini.
Gollini however, has been linked with Lazio in recent days. And Lloris was poor at the weekend. So there may be no guarantees over whether the Frenchman remains number one next year.
Of course, Tottenham also seemingly need to secure a top-four finish to appeal to Nubel. They currently sit eighth after three league defeats on the spin. But they still have a very good opportunity to move themselves up the table.
Nubel has not always had the easiest time with Monaco. And it has not been their best season. However, he is the second best-performing goalkeeper in Ligue 1 in comparison with his expected goals against ().
He has previously been described as a ‘‘ goalkeeper. So it will be very interesting to see what happens should Tottenham qualify for the Champions League while Monaco miss out.
