Report: Tottenham interested in signing Robin Koch, Leeds previously linked
that Tottenham Hotspur are one of a number of sides interested in signing Freiburg defender Robin Koch this summer – months after Leeds United had reportedly scouted the German rock.
Koch, 23, has starred for Freiburg this season. He has missed just one of his side’s 25 Bundesliga matches, missing one league game through illness. Playing in both midfield and in defence, Koch has helped his side keep five clean sheets.
That is no mean feat in a league that is renowned for its focus on attacking football. The report claims RB Leipzig had an offer of £13.8million in January, but Freiburg are looking for a fee of £18.5million. Leeds were linked in January.
During an interview with in January, director of football Victor Orta revealed a scout report on the Freiburg defender. Now, Napoli, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in the Germany international.

TBR’s view – Koch would be a long-term replacement for Vertonghen
With Jan Vertonghen expected to leave in the summer, Koch would be an excellent long-term replacement. The best part of a decade younger than the Belgian, Koch is being eyed as one of the best defenders in German football yet to make a big move.
Technically-gifted and comfortable on the ball, Koch is able to provide cover in the middle of the park. Like Juan Foyth, but already a better option than the Argentina international. For less than £20million, Koch would be a very solid addition.
