Report: Tottenham interested in raiding Antonio Conte’s Inter for midfielder

German outlet Fussball Transfers have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in raiding Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan for winger Ivan Perisic this summer – and could nab the Croatian for a bargain fee.

Perisic, 31, an 88-time Croatia international, has been on loan at Bayern Munich this season with the German champions utilising the loan market last summer. Philippe Coutinho also joined Bayern on loan.

The report states that Bayern have a £18million permanent clause in their current loan deal to sign Perisic, but are only willing to spend £9million on the former Wolfsburg and Dortmund ace.

Inter accept that they will fail to rake in the value of Bayern’s permanent clause for Perisic, but they do want a fee in the region £13.5million for the 2018 World Cup finalist. Spurs are interested in signing the attacker.

TBR’s view – Perisic would be a decent addition for Tottenham

Experienced, a winning mentality, plenty of proven quality and work rate, Perisic is a top, top player that has proven once again this season – scoring five goals and laying on eight assists in 27 Bayern outings, starting just 13.

Tottenham do have options out wide in the form of Erik Lamela, Steven Bergwijn, Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon. But Clarke and Lamela have been linked with an exit – and Perisic would be a good replacement.
