Report: Tottenham in talks to sign Inter star Perisic, wants to work under Conte
Tottenham are in talks to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic – with the Croatian ace keen to work under Antonio Conte again.
Perisic, 32, remains a key part of Simone Inzaghi’s side at Inter. Starting 15 of his 17 appearances, he has had a hand in five goals for the Serie A side.
But the 2018 World Cup finalist is out of contract in June, and available to talk to non-English sides about a pre-contract from January 1.
Clearly, Tottenham are looking to win the 111-time international over early – ahead of a free agent move. Such a deal would see him join in the summer.
Or, Spurs could look to arrange a cut-price figure with Inter Milan in January – and sign him immediately. A move to England is ‘most likely’.

Perisic to Tottenham: Croatian ace in, Bergwijn out under Conte?
Conte’s 3-4-3 system means Spurs play with a wing-back, and then a striker-like winger up top. Sergio Reguilon, and Son Heung-min, for example.
It works. What Perisic brings to the party, is the ability to play in both. He has the attacking quality and experience to change games in the final third.
But Perisic’s work rate, desire and aggression also allows him to fill in as a wing-back. Conte might have hoped Steven Bergwijn could offer similar.
The difference between Bergwijn and Perisic is work rate. You get the impression that Perisic’s attitude would be better suited under Conte.
