Report: Tottenham Hotspur make £60m bid for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur have made Tanguy Ndombele their top transfer target. And , Tottenham have submitted a club-record £60m bid for Ndombele.

Spurs are desperate to get this deal over the line. The North London club are ready for a summer of spending after two windows without signing any new players.

Ndombele has overtaken Giovani Lo Celso, Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon as Tottenham’s priority signing this summer.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder currently plays for Lyon in France. The Ligue 1 club would like to keep him but Spurs will test their resolve with a £60m bid.

The 4-cap France international is one of the most highly-rated young defenders in Europe at the moment. And Spurs are ready to break their transfer record to bring him in.

Manchester City have dropped out of the race to sign Ndombele with Atletico Madrid’s Rodri their preferred option. This leaves the path clear for Spurs to swoop.

TBR’s view

Ndombele would be a seriously exciting signing for Tottenham. After a long wait for a new signing, a club-record deal for this French starlet would be a statement signing.

Spurs need a new man to anchor the midfield and link the defence with the attack. At such a young age, he has all the physical credentials and over 100 games of experience under his belt.

If Spurs get his prime years, £60m could look like a snip several seasons down the line.
