Report: Tottenham held multiple talks with ‘outstanding’ title-winning manager before Nuno arrived

Tottenham Hotspur held repeated talks with Hansi Flick before ending up with Nuno, .
Nuno emerged as Tottenham’s new manager after over 70 days of searching at the start of this week. But the latest update suggests that the Portuguese was far from first choice to get the job.
Indeed, when Tottenham parted company with Jose Mourinho, it is claimed that Flick was very much the front runner to land the job.

However, Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy are both said to have been won over by Nuno and believe that he is now the right man for the job.
Nuno’s appointment came as a relief to many Spurs fans who had waited so long for a manager to be in place, but it hasn’t been unanimously popular.
The former Wolves boss is famed for a more defensive approach, which doesn’t seem totally in keeping with what Levy promised he was looking for.
Nuno has already promised Spurs that he will be looking to promote an attacking brand of football.
But it will now be up to him to prove that he can deliver on his aims, and a fast start will surely be required, otherwise the pressure could really grow quickly.
