Report: Tottenham have been tracking £25m-rated star for last three years

that Tottenham Hotspur have been tracking Fulham’s on-loan captain Joachim Andersen for the last three years ahead of a potential move this summer – as the defender continues to shine for the nearly-relegated Cottagers.

Andersen, 24, is currently on loan at Fulham from French club Lyon – though the London-based club do not have a permanent clause in their loan deal to sign him. It promises to be an intriguing summer for the Denmark international, then.

The defender has been excellent for Fulham, arguably the club’s best player this season as Scott Parker looks to take his side from the relegation zone to safety with seven games to play. However, it looks as though Fulham are down – six points adrift.

that Lyon will be willing to do business this summer for a figure in the region of £25million. claim Spurs have been tracking Andersen for three years – and are confident he would improve the North London side.

TBR’s view – Andersen is a no-brainer for Tottenham

The underlying problem for Spurs this season has been problems at centre-back. Toby Alderweireld is past it, Eric Dier is a midfielder playing at centre-back, Davinson Sanchez costs Spurs a goal a game and Joe Rodon is learning his trade.

Japhet Tanganga has been used at right-back but is yet to be trusted in the middle. Spurs need a commanding centre-back to take them forward, one that can form a relationship with the likes of Rodon or Dier. Andersen is a bargain, and is easily capable.
