Report: Tottenham have been scouting ‘extraordinary’ Championship striker, could move for cut price deal

Tottenham Hotspur have been scouting Blackburn Rovers talisman Ben Brereton Diaz, with they could move for a cut price deal for the Championship striker.

Brereton Diaz has enjoyed a real rise over the past two years after becoming a prolific goalscorer in England’s second-tier.

The 23-year-old has already bagged nine goals in 20 appearances for Rovers this season after scoring 22 during the last campaign.

He’s once again playing a key role for the Championship side but they could face losing him in January.

The Chile international’s contract runs until next summer and a host of Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation.

that Blackburn have a huge decision to make in the upcoming window, with Brereton Diaz attracting interest from top clubs.

A number of Premier League ‘giants’ are ready to make their move after the striker has already told Blackburn he will not be staying beyond his current deal.

The outlet claims that along with Spurs, a host of top-flight clubs have been counting Brereton Diaz, including Manchester United and West Ham United.

While Leeds, Bournemouth and Everton are known to be long-term admirers of the player.

Spurs bolstered their attacking options over the summer after bringing in Richarlison from Everton.

But they are still lacking an out-and-out striker to deputise for Harry Kane.

Brereton Diaz could certainly fit the bill but Spurs have found it difficult to convince strikers to join due to the prospect of them playing a back-up role to Kane.

Spurs may need to sign a player of a similar mould to Richarlison, with the Brazilian able to play across the front-three.

Diaz has shown he is capable of playing across the frontline and could be an intriguing option for Spurs. The striker could also be available at a cut price due to his contract situation at Ewood Park.
