Report: Tottenham have £17m player-plus-cash deal rejected for Brazilian ace
Tottenham have seen a bid of £17million plus defender Serge Aurier turned down by Barcelona for Emerson Royal,
It seems Fabio Paratici is not done for the summer and is intent on continually strengthening Tottenham’s side, especially their defence.
Paratici has signed Pierluigi Gollini, Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil and Pape Sarr – though the latter will remain on loan at French side Metz.
While there are still some players that Tottenham need moved on. Aurier, is a prime example. The Ivory Coast skipper is out of contract next summer.
It has seen Paratici look to kill two birds with one stone – much like he did in a deal to sign Gil. Erik Lamela was in a similar position to Aurier.

What are Tottenham fans saying about an Aurier and Emerson deal?
It saw Paratici include him in a deal for wonderkid Gil, and it is a move that paid off. He has attempted to do the same to sign Brazil star Emerson.
The right-back has moved to Barcelona after a two-year loan at Betis came to an end. But it looks as if he is a player Barca will sell to get some cash.
Tottenham need a right-back despite the early form of Japhet Tanganga. Matt Doherty has not been great, and Aurier looks destined to leave.
So, Paratici has tried to tempt Barcelona into selling Emerson for just £17million by including Aurier. But Barcelona have chosen to reject the bid.
It remains to be seen if Tottenham will go back in for Emerson – and whether it will be a straight cash offer, or include Aurier again.
