Report: Tottenham eyeing Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst, rated at £27m
that Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst is the latest striker to be eyed by Tottenham Hotspur as the north London club continue to press on with their search for back-up to Harry Kane.
Weghorst, 28, has been in stunning form for Wolfsburg since joining the club in the summer of 2018. The powerful target man has netted 38 goals in 80 league and cup appearances for the Bundesliga side – creating 12 more in assists.
Spurs are desperate to land a new striker. Jose Mourinho has made that clear in the press and the report states that Spurs have missed out on seven – Callum Wilson, Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings, Patson Daka, Arkadiusz Milik, Alex Sorloth and Willian Jose.
Weghorst is rated at £27million and has been previously linked with the Premier League. Though crucial to Wolfsburg, they are willing to sell and will not stand in the way of his Premier League dream.

TBR’s view – Weghorst is the perfect striker signing for Spurs
Going through the names as mentioned before, the likes of Wilson, Ings, Sorloth and Jose are all very similar to that of Kane. All-round strikers that are good in the air and good with the ball at their feet, but not specialising in a specific area.
Weghorst is an expert in the air. Not only does it give Spurs cover for Kane, but it gives them a plan B when Kane has failed to find the back of the net. It gives the north Londoners a different way of playing, making him ideal.
