Tottenham are reportedly eyeing a move for VFB Stuttgart forward Nicolas Gonzalez, according to a report from
The report claims Spurs are already eyeing potential replacements for Gareth Bale, after reports this week claimed the Welshman may be on his way back to Madrid in the summer.
claim that Gonzalez has been identified as a player of interest for Jose Mourinho. A £27m move has been touted given Gonzalez only signed a new deal in Germany last year.

Gonzalez is a player who can play across all the positions in an attacking sense. He has to World Cup winning Argentinian star Mario Kempes, who won the trophy for his country in 1978.
This wouldn’t be the first time Spurs have been keen on Gonzalez. Tentative enquiries were made for him in January but no deal was ever pressed ahead with.
The summer, however, could present a different scenario for Spurs, especially if Bale does indeed head back to Spain.
TBR View: Gonzalez a fine attacking player whose best is yet to come
Gonzalez will be getting a move away from Stuttgart eventually simply because he is such a talent, so it’s little wonder that Spurs have identified him as a potential signing.
His ability to play in numerous positions is a big asset and his quality is clear. He’s already capped by the Argentina national team and at 22, still has room for development.
In terms ideal Bale replacements, Gonzalez could well be the perfect addition.
