Report: Tottenham enter talks to sign 23-year-old defender, in case Romero deal falls through

that Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbian rock has been identified as a possible alternative to Cristian Romero, in case talks for the Argentine fall through. The player is keen on a move to London.

Milenkovic, 23, has thrown himself onto the Tottenham radar after a very solid 2020-21 campaign with La Viola. A 28-time Serbia international, Milenkovic clocked up 37 appearances in all competitions for Fiorentina. Now, Spurs are in talks to sign him – from Gennaro Gattuso’s new side.

The report claims that Milenkovic a target in case a move to sign Romero from Atalanta falls through. However, the Copa America winner looks set for Spurs. Talks are ongoing, though, for Milenkovic, who is keen on a move to London. His contract is due to expire in the summer of 2022.

Milenkovic would be a brilliant signing for Tottenham, amid talks

That is, even with the addition of Romero. Looking at the Tottenham options at centre-back, Spurs have now sold Toby Alderweireld while Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier could also go. The North London club need more than just Romero, then. Milenkovic should ne next.

Young, an international, colossal at 6ft 5in and all the kind of types of centre-back attributes required to play in the Premier League. Milenkovic would be a stunning signing for Spurs. he is represented by the same agency that deal with Miralem Pjanic.
