Report: Tottenham duo now expected to be available for Arsenal clash next weekend
reports that Tottenham Hotspur duo Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski are expected to be available for the clash against Arsenal next weekend.
Spurs will now be looking ahead to what feels like a huge clash in north London next weekend after beating Portsmouth 1-0 yesterday.
Antonio Conte’s side were pushed by a resilient Pompey side but a moment of magic from Harry Kane sent them through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Tottenham thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 on Wednesday and have now kept clean sheets in consecutive games, while managing to not concede the first goal.
They’ve managed this without some of their most important players, with Kulusevski, Bentancur and Richarlison all sidelined. But it seems that at least two of the trio will be available just in time for next weekend’s north London derby.
Kulusevski and Bentancur to be available for Arsenal
reports that Kulusevski is ‘best-placed’ of the injured trio to be available for Conte next weekend.
The Swedish winger picked up a minor muscle injury before the 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
Bentancur has been ruled out since the World Cup but he is now expected to be ready to face Arsenal next Sunday.
The outlet notes that Richarlison is currently the furthest away from recovering in time for the derby but Conte could name him amongst the substitutes if the chance arises.
The Italian’s assistant Cristian Stellini also confirmed that Yves Bissouma will be available after he missed out against Portsmouth yesterday.
It will be a massive boost for Conte if both Kulusevski and Benatancur are back in time to face Arsenal.
While Tottenham picked up a positive result against Palace during the week, the former Juventus stars have been standout performers under the Italian this season.
Spurs were without Kulusevski when they fell to a 3-1 defeat at the Emirates back in October and really missed his creativity on the right-hand side.
