Report: Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld wanted by Italian pair
Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld is reportedly wanted by Italian pair Juventus and Inter Milan.
, Italian heavyweights Juventus want a double Spurs raid for Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen.
But it’s understood that Inter would rival them for Alderweireld and they have already contacted his representatives, with potential negotiations likely to be wrapped up quickly.
The report details that potential talks to Juventus would be swift too, as the centre-back is touted to fill the void left by the injured Giorgio Chiellini.
It’s believed that he could be “enticed” by a move to Juventus, as his contract expires at the end of the season.
The have previously reported though that there “is a belief” the Belgium international could sign a new deal to extend his stay with Spurs beyond this season.
TBR’s View:
Spurs have done well to keep Alderweireld into his last season and an ideal scenario would be for him to pen a new contract, as he’s still one of the top centre-backs in the Premier League.
But if he doesn’t sign a new deal anytime soon then his future will continue to be a familiar topic for discussion throughout the rest of the season.
He’s been a brilliant servant during his four-year spell in North London, so fans should should enjoy him if it is to be his last year with the club.
