Zaniolo looks to be one of the players still on the Tottenham wishlist heading into the final weeks of the transfer window.
Obviously, Spurs have enjoyed a brilliant summer so far. But the fans would certainly appreciate a couple of further signings who provide the icing on the cake. And Zaniolo is one name in the frame.
Reports this week claimed that he is set to sign a new contract with Roma. But perhaps Tottenham are not ready to throw in the towel in the battle for the 23-year-old’s signature.

It is difficult to know just how serious Spurs’ interest in Zaniolo is. Previous reports have claimed that he is Antonio Conte’s dream signing.
And there have been suggestions that Tottenham have also made a bid that also involves Joe Rodon moving the other way.
So it is hard to call whether Zaniolo will sign a new contract or end up moving on. But it would certainly be an amazing statement if Tottenham could bring him to North London.
Spurs potentially need someone who can make more things happen in the final third. And Zaniolo would certainly tick that box. He has been labelled ‘‘ in the past.
Perhaps it may become more apparent soon whether a deal is possible.
